Zibeon’s EPIC Tour de APY Bike Ride
April 15th –21st 2019

“I aim to be a man with a responsibility who’s driven by his purposes to make change and inspire”. Zibeon Fielding

Please help me support Zibeon Fielding as he takes on the epic challenge to be the first person to ride around the entire APY Lands from the Stuart highway in South Australia along the outskirts of the Northern Territory and Western Australian border to his home town of Mimili. Over seven days, from the 15th -21st of April 2019, Zibeon will cover a distance of around 700km.

In the APY Lands desert there’s nothing but red dirt, corrugated roads, boggy sand, scorching dry heat and unpredictable wildlife. The desire and determination to inspire his community to adopt a healthy lifestyle is driving this inspirational young man to lead by example and make a difference!

With chronic disease common in his community, Zibeon is passionate about making positive change. As a health practitioner, he sees many people on the edge of developing diseases at a young age and dying from chronic problems such as renal failure.

Zibeon is a Graduate of the Indigenous Marathon Project, selected as one of 12 participants to run the New York City Marathon under world champion Robert De Castella in 2016. In 2018 Zibeon completed the Boston marathon and more recently ran 62kms through the APY Lands. The ultramarathon raised over $50,000 to fund dialysis services so that people living away from community (because they suffer from chronic kidney failure) can return to their communities and still get the treatment they need

The purpose of the bike ride is to help raise $30,000 for the Mimili Community gym.

The community gym was an idea suggested by the students of Mimili School. They’ve managed to get a government grant to start building the first gym ever in Mimili! With your generous support we can help contribute to improving the health outcomes of the community and promote the benefits of being healthy and living a long and happy life.

During the bike ride Zibeon will stop at each community to visit the local school to talk about healthy lifestyle choices, quit smoking, exercising and staying active, eating well and the importance of education.

ANY DONATION, BIG OR SMALL, WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE

Thanks so much for your support!
